Visible Wednesday - Playful daisy

I love my garden. And that's why I like to use the inspiration from the garden in my cards. Sometimes it's the animals, sometimes the colours or the flowers. I was directly in love with the Daisy Daisy stencil from Visible Image from the new release and said I needed two of them. Not to give them away, no. I want to work with one of them and the other one is for admiring it and to pet it. It is just so beautiful. It's - like some others from the new release - a frameless design.

But this card is not only inspired by my garden. I remembered my Kindergarten days. From time to time we worked with stencils and used a toothbrush to sprinkle the watercolour through a sieve. I wanted to try this technique again.
But first I applied the paint in the middle of the flower with a brush through the stencil. In the middle I used a yellow tone and blended it with orange towards the outside.

Then the spraying technique was used. My water colours are water crayons from Lyra. For this step I covered the middle of the flower with a circle.

For a special effect I wanted to have petals in orange shades behind my motif. So I had to dig deep in my box of ideas, because I realized that I have many filigree leaf dies, but somehow I didn't have a suitable one for my motif. And so I used a punch set that contains rather spacy objects (called atomic elements). You can see the dies I used on the picture in the material list further below.

I stamped the wonderful sentiment from Visible Image with Distress Oxides. To underline the happy playful look a bit more I cut the stitched wavelines on the of the edges.
