Na, habt Ihr Euch auch schon für die neuen Distress Oxide Sprays interessiert? Ich konnte mich natürlich mal wieder nicht entscheiden, welche Farben ich nehmen soll und so habe ich dann gleich alle 12 bisher erschienenen Farben gekauft. Bestimmt kommen die anderen Farben auch noch raus. Puh!
Heute möchte ich Euch eine Karte zeigen, bei der ich den Hintergrund mit den neuen Sprays gestaltet habe.

Today I want to show you a card, for which I designed the background with the new sprays.
Aber bevor ich zur Gestaltung des Hintergrunds komme, muss ich Euch natürlich erst einmal verraten, wie ich das mit den Händen hinbekommen habe. Das ist ein bisschen verzwickter. Ich habe mit einer Stempelplatform gearbeitet. Die Händestempel habe ich zunächst so platziert, wie sie auf der Karte erscheinen sollen. Dann habe ich einen Hintergrundstempel mit lila Distress Oxides Farbe benetzt und diesen Stempel auf den Händestempel gedrückt. Dann habe ich die Hände mit Hilfe der Platform auf die Karte abgedrückt. Nach gründlichem Reinigen und Trocknen (die Hände dabei in ihrer fixierten Position belassen), habe ich den Händestempel mit Versamark benetzt und ebenfalls wieder auf die Karte abgestempelt. Das habe ich dann mit farblosem Embossingpulver embosst. So waren die Hände mit den Sternchen vor dem Arbeiten mit den Distress Oxides Sprays geschützt (dies ist eine Art der Maskierung).
But before I get to the design of the background, I have to tell you how I managed it with the hands. This is a bit more tricky. I worked with a stamp platform. At first I placed the hand stamp as they should appear on the card. Then I moistened a background stamp with purple Distress Oxides and pressed this stamp onto the hand stamp. Then I pressed the hands on the card with the help of the platform. After thorough cleaning and drying (leaving the hands in their fixed position), I moistened the hand stamp with Versamark and stamped it again on the card. Then I embossed it with colourless embossing powder. This way the hands with the stars are protected from working with the Distress Oxides Sprays (this is one kind of masking).
Auf den Hintergrund habe ich dann mit verschiedenen Farben der Sprays gesprüht. Außerdem habe ich mit Wasser gearbeitet und auch Tropfen von Acrylblöcken tropfen lassen, sowie mit farbe und Wasser benetzten Acrylblöcken über den Hintergrund gewischt. Zwischendurch habe ich das Papier immer wieder trocken gefönt. Ein besonderer Trick ist, dass ich auch mit den Distress Inks gearbeitet habe. Überschüssige Farbe habe ich dann von dem Handmotiv mit einem Zewa abgewischt. Ich habe auch an den Rändern ein wenig mit feuchtem Tuch gearbeitet, damit es dort ein wenig dunkler wurde. Die Hände habe ich zusätzlich mit einem dunklen Polychromoston an den Rändern betont.
On the background I sprayed with different colours of the sprays. I also worked with water and drops from acrylic blocks, as well as wiped over the background with the colour covered and moistened acrylic blocks. In between I dried the paper again and again. A special trick is that I also worked with the Distress Inks. I then wiped off excess paint from the hand motif with a paper cloth. I also worked a little with a damp cloth at the edges to make it a little darker. I also emphasized the hands with a dark Polychromos tone at the edges.
Auf den gut getrockeneten Hintergrund habe ich noch die Sterne gestempelt und ausgemalt, sowie die weißen Sterne mit Versamark gestempelt und mit weißem Pulver embosst.
On the well dried background I stamped and then painted the stars, as well as stamped the white stars with Versamark and embossed them with white powder.
Der Schriftzug ist zweimal ausgestanzt und dann versetzt übereinander geklebt. Auf den Hintergrund habe ich noch klitze kleine Glitzersteinchen geklebt.
The lettering is die-cut twice and then glued on top of each other a bit twisted. On the background I glued some small glittering stones.
Jetzt möchtet Ihr bestimmt auch ein Fazit für die Sprays haben, gell? Sie sind sehr farbintensiv und leicht zu handhaben. Ich finde sie toll. Leider sprühen sie sehr fein, so dass man ein bisschen tricksen muss, wenn man mehr Strukturen erzeugen will.
Now you'd like to have a conclusion for the sprays, wouldn't you? They are very colour intensive and easy to handle. I think they are great. Unfortunately, they spray very finely, so you have to trick a bit if you want to create structures.
