Circled background

Ihr wisst ja, ich mag die Kombination von blau und grün und türkis. Und diesmal gibt es kein Meeresthema, sondern eine Blumen-Danke-Karte. Ich habe dabei eine Technik verwendet, mit der man auf eine einfache Weise wunderschöne Hintergründe auf Glossypapier zaubern kann.
You know, I like the combination of blue and green and turquoise. And this time it is no sea theme, but a flower thank you card. I used a technique that makes it easy to create beautiful backgrounds on glossy paper.


Für den Hintergrund meiner Karte habe ich mit wasserfarben auf Glossypapier gearbeitet. Diesmal habe ich mir die Tombowmarker genommen und zunächst auf den verschieden großen Kreisen des Sets Wirbelwind mit ihnen verschiedene Farbtöne aufgetragen. Dann habe ich sie mit Wasser besprüht und dann auf die Karte gedrückt. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich dann die Blumen mit Distress Oxides gestempelt. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich die kreideartigen Pigmente der Oxides wieder mit einem Tuch abgewischt. Am Rand habe ich die Nähte per Hand eingezeichnet, Nuvo Drops auf dem Hintergrund zugefügt, das Wort Danke mit Abstandspads montiert und eine passenden Schleife aufgeklebt.
For the background of my card I worked with watercolours on glossy paper. This time I took the Tombow markers and first applied different colours to the various sized circles of the set Wirbelwind. Then I misted them with water and pressed them onto the card. After drying I stamped the flowers with Distress Oxides. After drying once more I wiped the chalk-like pigments off with a cloth. At the edges I drew the stitches by hand, added Nuvo Drops on the background, mounted the word thank you with spacer pads and glued on a matching bow.

Wild Thing - Gastdesign bei der Stempelgarten Challenge #82

Bei vielen ist der Begriff Sommer wohl direkt mit Sonne, Strand, kühlen Getränken als Motive verbunden. Ja, das ist bei mir auch so (siehe meine Karte zum Thema Sommer mit den Flip Flops HIER), ABER, die Sommerzeit ist auch die Zeit, in der Rasen gemäht werden muss. Und so habe ich es mir bei diesem Mal nicht nehmen lassen, auch das in eine Karte umzuwandeln. Das Stempelset hatte ich mir vor ein paar Monaten gekauft und ich finde es einfach herrlich. Ich besitze selbst einen Aufsitzrasenmäher für mein Grundstück und der ist orange. Also sollte auch der Mäher auf der Karte in leuchtendem Orange daher kommen. ... Mit dem Typen auf dem Mäher habe ich aber nicht wirklich Ähnlichkeit, finde ich :) 
For many, the term summer is probably directly associated with sun, beach, cool drinks as motifs. Yes, that is also the case with me (see my card about summer with the flip flops HERE), BUT, summer time is also the time when the lawn has to be mowed. And so this time I didn't let myself get away with converting it into a card. I bought the stamp set a few months ago and I just love it. I own a riding lawn mower for my property as well and it is orange. So the mower on the card should also come in bright orange. ... But I am pretty certain that I have not much in common with guy on the mower here :)

Zur Herstellung meiner Karte könnte ich eigentlich schreiben: Gestempelt mit Memento, koloriert mit Copics, so einfach :)
Aber es ist tatsächlich so. Also, ich habe das Motiv und den Text mit Memento gestempelt. Für die Anfänger oder Einsteiger unter Euch sei nochmal erwähnt, dass Ihr je nach dem, mit welchen Farben Ihr kolorieren wollt, auch unterschiedliche Stempelpads benutzen müsst. Wenn Ihr, wie in meinem Fall hier, mit Alkoholmarkern arbeiten wollt, dann müsst Ihr ein Stempelkissen nehmen, welches nicht von ihnen angelöst wird. Ich benutze gerne das Memento- Stempelkissen. Dann habe ich mir zunächst mein Hauptmotiv vorgenommen. Ihr müsst Euch vor dem Start klar darüber sein, von wo das Licht kommen soll. Die Bereiche, auf die das Licht fällt müssen heller gestaltet sein. Für eine Farbe benötigt Ihr mindestens zwei bis drei Farbtöne, also Abstufungen. Bei den Copicmarkern müsst Ihr viele male in kreisenden Bewegungen über die angrenzenden Bereiche in der Farbe gehen, damit ein schöner Verlauf entsteht. 
Mein zweiter Kolorationsbereich war der Rasen und danach dann noch der Himmel. Damit die Sonnenstrahlen auch etwas leuchten und nicht grün werden, habe ich etwas von der blauen Farbe mit dem 0-er Copic abgelöst. 
Und noch etwas sei verraten: Mir ist ein großes Maleur passiert bei der Koloration. Anscheinend hatte einer meiner Orangetöne zu viel Tinte und ist mir daher mit einem dicken Klecks auf dem kolorierten Bild gelandet. Was tun? Ich habe mich dann entschieden, den vorher rein metallisch grau kolorierten Schnittschutz des Rasenmähers grau-orange zu gestalten. Passt doch auch, oder?

For the making of my card I could actually write: Stamped with Memento, coloured with Copics - so simple :)
But it really is like that. Well, I stamped the motive and the text with Memento. For the beginners or newcomers among you I would like to mention again that you have to use different stamp pads depending on the tools you want to colour with. If, as in my case here, you want to work with alcohol markers, then you have to use a stamp pad, which is not dissolved by them. I like to use the Memento stamp pad. Then I took my main motive at first. Before the start you have to be clear where the light should come from. The areas where the light falls have to be brighter. For one colour you need at least two to three colour tones, i.e. gradations. With the Copicmarkers you must go many times in circling movements over the adjacent areas in the colour, so that a beautiful shading develops.
My second colouration area was the lawn and then the sky. So that the sunbeams shine a bit and don't turn green, I took some of the blue colour off with the 0 Copic.
And let me disclose this to you: A great misfortune happened to me during the colouration. Apparently one of my orange shades had too much ink and landed with a thick blob on the coloured image. What to do? Then I decided to make the cutting protection of the lawn mower, which formerly had been coloured purely metallic grey, grey-orange. Fits too, doesn't it?

Sparkle in the rain

Heute habe ich mal wieder eine Schritt für Schritt Anleitung für Euch, wie ich meine Karte gemacht habe. Sie ist mein drittes Projekt als Gastdesignerin für Visible Image.

Gestartet habe ich mit einem Acrylfarbe Hintergrund. Den oberen Bereich der Karte habe ich mit Hilfe der Acrylfarben, einer Gelli Plate und einem Brayer eingefärbt. 

Today I again have a step by step guide for you how I made my card. It is my third project as a guest designer for Visible Image.
I started with an acrylic background. I coloured the upper part of the card with the acrylic paints, a Gelli Plate and a brayer.


Den Text und das Motiv habe ich mit Versafine in schwarz gestempelt. Dafür habe ich das Motiv in der Stampingplatform belassen, so dass ich mit einem Trick den Blitz genau auf der Frau positionieren konnte. 


I stamped the text and the motive with Versafine in black. I left the motive in the Stamping platform, so that I could position the lightning with a trick exactly onto the woman.


Ich habe einen Stempel aus dem Fibres-Set mit Versamark benetzt und diesen dann auf den gereinigten Frauenstempel gedrückt. 
I applied Versamark on a stamp from the Fibres set and then pressed it onto the cleaned woman's stamp.



Diesen habe ich dann widerum mit Hilfe der Stempelplattform nochmal genau auf den vorherigen Abdruck gestempelt. Das Versamark habe ich dann zunächst mit einem grunge-Orangeton embosst und dann mit weißem Signomarker noch hervorgehoben.

Then I stamped this again with the help of the stamp platform exactly on the previous impression. I then embossed the Versamark with a grunge orange tone and then highlighted it with a white marker.


Die Regenfäden habe ich ebenfalls mit Versamark gestempelt und mit einem Jeanston embosst. 
I also stamped the rain threads with Versamark and embossed them with a jeans tone.


Im unteren Teil habe ich die Frau und den Text maskiert und dann die Quadrate gestempelt. Im Anschluß habe ich noch ganz ganz viel mit Polychromos gemalt. Unter anderem brauchte die Frau ja einen weißen Schimmer, die Wolken wollten betont werden und der Quadratboden musste ein wenig realistischer gestaltet werden. Außerdem wollte ich, dass der Spruch quasi auf einem Stein steht. Den habe ich also auch gemalt.

In the lower part I masked the woman and the text and then stamped the squares. Afterwards I painted a lot with Polychromos. Among other things, the woman needed a white shimmer, the clouds wanted to be emphasized and the square floor had to be designed a little more realistic. I also wanted the slogan to stand on a stone. So I painted it, too.

Background made with a foil - Welcome Karen

Nachdem es ja kürzlich das - wie ich es nenne - "Schmuddeligmacher-Set" von Scrapbook Forever neu gegeben hat, ist jetzt eine Erweiterung, also ein zweites Set dazu gekommen. Dieses, den Text und den Zweig aus einem weiteren neuen Set habe ich für diese Karte benutzt. 
After the recent release of the - as I call it - "Grunge maker set" by Scrapbook Forever, an extension has now been added, a second set. I used this, the text and the branch from another new set for this card.


Für den Hintergrund habe ich eine besondere Technik verwendet. Oder besser gesagt waren es sogar zwei Techniken. Erstmal habe ich den Streifen mit einer Folie gemacht, die ich mit Tombows und später den Stempelfarben eingefärbt hatte und mit etwas Wasser besprüht hatte. Die Folie wird dann auf die Karte gelegt und später für filigrane Elemente nochmals drauf getupft nach weiterer Farbzugabe. Zwischendurch müsst Ihr das Papier immer wieder trocknen. Die zweite Technik ist, dass ich mit Distress Oxides für den Hintergrund (sowohl dem Streifen, als auch den Stempelmotiven) auf Glossy Papier gearbeitet habe. Bei dem von mir verwendeten von Stampin Up kann man dann nach dem Trocknen die aufliegenden Kreidepigmente einfach mit einem Küchenpapier abwischen, so dass die Karte schön glänzt. 
Die Zweige und den gestempelten Text habe ich noch mit schwarzem und weißem Stift nachgearbeitet. Zum Schluß habe ich noch flüssige Halbperlen zugefügt.

For the background I used a special technique. Or rather, there were two techniques. First of all I made the strip with a foil, which I dyed with tombows and later also with the stamping ink and sprayed with some water. You then press the foil on your paper. You repeat this and dry the paper in between. Towards the end you only tip the foil on the paper so that the elements get more delicate. The second technique is that I worked with Distress Oxides for the background (both the stripe and the stamped motifs) on glossy paper. With the paper I used, whic is from Stampin Up, you can simply wipe off the chalk pigments with a kitchen paper after drying, so that the card gets a nice shine. 
I have reworked the branches and the stamped text with black and white pens. Finally I added some liquid half pearls.

30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy

Ich hab sie endlich, die neuen Stempel von Scrapbook Forever! Ich hatte mich direkt in das Set Neptun und seine Meerjungfrauen verliebt. Nicht nur enthält es Neptun selber und natürlich seine Meerjungfrauen, sondern auch so super niedliche Fische! Damit sie nicht in den Schatten von Neptun selber treten müssen, soll ihnen hier der alleinige Platz auf meiner Karte eingeräumt werden. 
I finally got them, the new stamps from Scrapbook Forever! I fell right in love with the set Neptune and his mermaids. Not only does it contain Neptune himself and of course his mermaids, but also such super cute fish! To make sure that they don't have to step into the shadow of Neptune, I want to give them the sole place on my card here.


Die Karte habe ich im CAS Stil gehalten und doch ist natürlich einiges an Koloration notwendig gewesen. Erst einmal habe ich mir zwei weiße Kartons zurecht geschnitten, von dem der hintere nur eine Spur schmaler war als der vordere. Auf den hinteren habe ich das Wasser mit Copics gemalt, den vorderen habe ich frei Hand ausgeschnitten, an den Rändern mit Copics koloriert und mit Abstandspads auf den Hintergrund befestigt. 
I kept the card in CAS style, but of course some colouration was necessary. First of all I cut two pieces of white cardstock, of which the rear one was only a trace narrower than the front one. On the rear piece I painted the water background with Copics. I cut out the front one freely by hand, coloured with Copics at the edges and fixed it to the background with spacer pads.  

Die Fische sind mit Memento gestempelt und ebenfalls mit Copics sowie Signomarker koloriert. Der Text ist mit Versamark gestempelt und in weiß embosst. Alles ist mit verschieden dicken Abstandspads befestigt. Zum Schluß habe ich noch Nuvo Drops als Bläaschen zugefügt.
The fishes are stamped with Memento and also coloured with Copics and Signomarker. The text is stamped with Versamark and embossed in white. It says: "Dive and relax for a while". Everything is attached with spacer pads of different thicknesses. To finish the card I added Nuvo drops as bubbles.


Kennt Ihr die 30 Tage Kolorier Challenge von Kathy Racoosin? Sie findet bereits das 13 Mal statt und diesmal mache ich mit. Nun, ich mache auf meine Art mit. Eigentlich geht es darum, dass man sich jeden Tag für 30 Tage lang Zeit nimmt etwas zu kolorieren. Aber, es soll vor allem Spaß machen und der Entspannung beitragen und keinen Stress generieren. So habe ich erst gezögert, ob ich denn mitmachen soll, denn mir war klar, dass es für mich eher stressig ist, jeden Tag etwas anzumalen, dieses dann noch zu fotografieren und zu zeigen. Daher habe ich die Challenge für mich ein wenig entspannter gemacht. Ich mache hier und da mit und heute möchte ich diese Karte explizit dieser Challenge widmen. Ich finde es eine großartige Aktion, die Ihr unter dem Hashtag #thedailymarker30day verfolgen könnt. Auf jeden Fall verbindet diese Challenge die Menschen Stempler-Szene und das finde ich klasse. 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy (LINK)
Do you know Kathy Racoosin´s 30 Day Coloring Challenge? It already takes place the 13th time and this time I do take part. Well, I'll do it my way. Actually, it's about taking 30 days each day to colour something. But, above all, it should be fun and contribute to relaxation and not generate stress. So I hesitated at first whether I should take part because I knew that it was rather stressful for me to colour something every day and then photograph and show it. That's why I made the Challenge a bit more relaxed for me. I did take part here and there and today I would like to dedicate this card explicitly to this challenge. I think it's a great project that you can follow under the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. In any case, this challenge connects the people in the stampers community and I think that's great! Mein Monat 2019-05

Auch im Monat Mai habe ich sehr viel koloriert. Hier ist wieder meine Kollage mit meinen Karten aus dem Monat Mai für Euch. 
Wir haben ja grade eine Hitzewelle hier in Deutschland, aber - das mag ich Euch verraten - es hält mich nicht davon ab, abends in meinem Bastelzimmer zu werkeln. Ihr könnt es in den kommenden Tagen wieder sehen.
Also in the month of May I coloured a lot. Here is again my collage with my cards from the month of May for you. 
We just have a heat wave here in Germany, but - I'll tell you that - it doesn't stop me from working in my craft room in the evening. You will be able to see it again in the coming days.

Canada after retirement

Ja, man könnte meinen, dass die Blätter hier schon in Richtung Herbst gehen, wo wir doch grade erstmal in Mitten des Sommers angekommen sind, aber sie stehen symbolisch für Kanada. Ich sollte nämlich eine Karte gestalten für einen Mann, der nach seiner Pensionierung eine Reise nach Kanada antritt. Daher fand ich die herbstlichen Farben passender als das knallige rot.
Verwendet habe ich einige meiner guten alten Schätze! Witziger Weise habe ich im Anfang meiner Stempelleidenschaft sehr viele Blätterstempel gekauft, wie auch das hier verwendete Set von Hero Arts, welches die Ahornblätter enthält. Ich muss es mir so ca. 2007 rum gekauft haben. Nur wenige Jahre später konnte ich das ebenfalls verwendete Set von Stampin Up Definitely Decorative Pines ergattern, welches ich so schön fand. Es ist aus dem Jahr 1998, ich habe es aber glaube ich erst so ca. 2008/2009 bekommen. 


Yes, one might think that the leaves here are already heading towards autumn, while we have just arrived in the middle of summer, but they symbolize Canada actually. I was supposed to design a card for a man who is going to travel to Canada after his retirement. Therefor I found the autumnal colours fitting better than the flashy red.
I used some of my good old treasures! Funnily enough, I bought many leaf stamps at the beginning of my passion for stamps, for example the Hero Arts set used here, which contains the maple leaves. I must have bought it around 2007. Only a few years later I could get hold of the also used set of Stampin Up Definitely Decorative Pines, which I found so beautiful. It is from the year 1998, but I think I got it in 2008/2009.

Die Stempel für die Blätter habe ich mit mehreren Farben eingefärbt und nach dem Stempeln ausgeschnitten. Im Hintergrund habe ich ein Designpapier verwendet, welches ich an den Rändern abgerissen habe, so dass man eine schöne weiße Kante sieht, die zu den Rändern an den Motiven passt. 
Ein besonderes Highlight sind meine Wanderschuhe. Das ist eine ebenfalls sehr alte Stanze, mit der ich die Schuhe ausgestanzt habe. Ich habe sie dann noch mit Buntstiften angemalt und mit Schnürsenkeln versehen.


I inked the stamps for the leaves with several colours and cut them out after stamping. In the background I used a design paper, which I tore off at the edges, so that you can see a nice white edge, which fits to the edges of the motives.
A special highlight are my hiking shoes. This is also a very old die with which I punched out the shoes. I painted them with coloured pencils and laced them.
