Two step stamping with one step stamps

As you might know already, I am member of a few design teams. Today starts a new challenge at the Kreativgeflüster Blog. It is a Bingo challenge this time. Come and play along with us and have the chance to win three stamps from our sponsor A Capella. Here is my inspiration for you.

Gestartet habe ich mit einem Bogen Flüsterweiß von Stampin Up. Das ist meine Hauptleinwand in den letzten Jahren geworden. Die Stempel, die ich verwedet habe sind zwar keine Two-Step-Stempel im eigentlichen Sinne, aber man kann viele Stempel trotzdem so verwenden und einen tollen Effekt erzielen. Hierfür habe ich zunächst die wasserlösliche helle Farbe mit meinen Markern auf die Stempel gemalt und nach leichtem Besprühen mit Wasser auf die Karte abgedrückt. Danach wird das gleiche Motiv in einer oder mehreren dunkleren Farben nochmal über den hellen Abdruck auf normale Weise gestempelt, also ohne das Motiv anzusprühen. Es muss nicht haargenau deckungsgleich sein, es ist sogar ein bisschen besser, wenn es leicht versetzt ist. Im Beispiel von heute habe ich dann zusätzlich nachträglich noch ein wenig mit den Markern nachgemalt und gekritzelt.

Wie Ihr ja wisst, sollen für die Challenges des Retro Rubber Challenge Blogs immer alte Stempel benutzt werden. In diesem Fall habe ich die Blumenstempel schon sooooo viele Jahre, dass ich gar nicht mehr weiß, wann ich sie gekauft habe. Der Zweigstempel ist vom Jahr 2006.

I started with a piece of whisper white card stock from Stampin Up, which became my main canvas over the past years. I put some water soluble ink on the stamp with light coloured marker, misted it with water and stamped the image. I then used the same stamp again and took darker colours, no misting this time, just normal stamping on the same image. It does not need to be right the same spot as before. Actually it is even more cool to have it a bit "off". In the example from today I then worked on the image a bit with my marker and even scribbled a bit on the flowers to give it a special touch.

You might know, that the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog is always asking for the use of our old stamps. The flower stamps are so old, that I do not even know, from which year they are. It is so many years ago when I bought this set. I only found, that the sprig stamp is from 2006.
