Heute wollte ich Euch mal eine typische Situation für meine Arbeitsweise vorstellen. Nicht das Projekt wird von mir gestaltet, sondern ich werde vom Projekt geleitet. Ich weiß, dort draußen gibt es viele Künstler und Künstlerinnen, die Ihr Projekt im Voraus genau planen, was wohin, welche Farben und so weiter. Wenn etwas nicht auf Anhieb funktioniert, wird es wiederholt und perfektioniert. Bei mir ist das ganz anders. Manchmal habe ich eine grobe Vorstellung. Das ist aber auch schon das Maximum. Oft habe ich nur einen Stempel oder eine Farbkombination als Ausgangspunkt; vielleicht ein Stencil oder eine Technik im Kopf, die ich ausprobieren möchte. Und dann fließt das Projekt zusammen.
Today I wanted to present you a typical situation for my way of working. Not the project is designed by me, but I am guided by the project. I know there are many artists out there who plan their project in advance exactly: what goes where, which colors and so on. If something doesn't work right away, they repeat it to perfection.
With me, it's quite different. Sometimes I have a rough idea. But that is already the maximum. Often I just have a stamp or color combination as a starting point; maybe a stencil or a technique in mind that I want to try. And then the project flows together.
Dieses Mal hatte ich doch tatsächlich schon im Kopf, dass ich die drei Blumen nutzen wollte und die Worte daneben platzieren wollte. Beim Durchsehen und Auswählen der Schablonen machte ich in Gedanken schon Pläne, doch dann kam es ganz anders. Aber zunächst einmal zu den Blumen:
Sie sind in weiß auf rostrotem Vellum embosst. Dafür habe ich sie mit Versamark gestempelt und anschließend von Hand ausgeschnitten. Ich habe die Blütenblätter von der Oberseite mit Polychromos leicht koloriert.
This time I actually already had in mind that I wanted to use the three flowers and place the words next to them. While looking through and selecting the templates I already made plans in my mind, but then it came quite differently. But first, let's start with the flowers:
They are embossed in white on rusty red vellum. For this I stamped them with Versamark and then cut them out by hand. I lightly colored the petals from the top with Polychromos.
Dann hatte ich doch die waghalsige Idee, dass ich einen wunderschönen Hintergrund mit einer Strukturpaste und Sprays schaffen würde. .... das habe ich auch, aber er passte so überhaupt nicht zu den Blumen. ABER: der ebenso angefallene "Restedruck" passte so wunderbar. Im Foto seht Ihr den mit der Strukturpaste bestrichenen Stencil, an dem die Farben der Sprays leuchten. Die Schablone habe ich von dem Hintergrund entfernt, mit Wasser besprüht und den Abdruck gezogen, den ich für meine Karte als Hintergrund verwendet habe.
Then I had the daring idea that I would create a beautiful background with a texture paste and sprays. .... I did, but it did not fit at all to the flowers. BUT: the equally accrued "residual print" fit so wonderfully. On the photo you can see the stencil coated with the texture paste, on which the colors of the sprays shine. I removed the stencil from the background, sprayed it with water and drew the print, which I used as a background for my card.
Auf diesen Hintergrund habe ich noch Sprenkel von einer Farbe des Sprays mit einem Pinsel aufgespritzt und in einer weiteren Farbe die Stempel im Hintergrund gestempelt.
On this background I sprayed sprinkles of one color of the sprays with a brush and stamped the stamps in the background in another color.
Die Texte sind ebenfalls in weiß embosst. Die Blumen und Texte habe ich mit Abstandspads auf dem Hintergrund angebracht, welchen ich noch mit einem dunklen Karton in passender Farbe hinterlegt habe.
The texts are embossed in white as well. I have attached the flowers and texts with spacer pads on the background, which I have still backed with a dark cardboard in matching color.
