I haven't participated in the Retro Rubber Challenge for a long time because I've been using a lot of my new stamps lately, but I just like some of the old stamps too much not to use them again and again. I coloured this flower from one of my PaperArtsy Jofy sets which I have owned for many years. It has become a card in gloriously sunny bright colours. That's so great, because we're waving to winter now and wishing for spring, aren't we? The sun is shining nicely here already.

With this card you might think the background is a design paper or a napkin or something. But I actually made it myself. With a Gelli Plate, acrylic paints and a stencil, I first created the background on very fine transparent paper (you might know that when you buy tops, they sometimes have paper in between). After drying, I tore it into strips and glued them with a white glue, which I diluted with water, onto a white cardboard with the help of a brush. It actually looks like one has a printed background. The flower is stamped with Memento and coloured with Copics. The writing is stamped with Versamark on black cardboard and embossed in white. Then I punched it out with the matching dies.

I did think you'd used a paper to make your stripes! So clever that you made it yourself! It makes a lovely base for your glorious flower. Thank you for getting out your old favourites and joining us again at Retro Rubber Challenge.
AntwortenLöschenHello my friend - guess what FINALLY arrived, your little package and I love it all, I'll be making a card with it when I return from the UK, can you message me your address, as I seem to have misplaced it. I love your card, so clever using your Gelli plate in this way, I am inspired and have pinned your card. Thanks for playing again at Retro Rubber. Claire DT
