Christmas in July - A real challenge!

Ich gebe es zu: Weihnachten im Sommer ist wirklich nicht mein Ding. Es gibt ja Leute unter Euch, die das ganze Jahr über fleißig Weihnachtskarten basteln. So habt Ihr dann um die Weihnachtszeit genügend Karten gesammelt, um sie lieben Menschen zu schicke. Ich gehe dann immer in die Produktion und mache ganz viele Karten. Bzw. ich mache dann oft die Karten nach Weihnachten. Ich bin dann in der Stimmung, die weihnachtlichen Materialien liegen dort und ich habe auch meist die Zeit dafür nach Weihnachten. Auf dem Stamp Corner Challenge Blog haben wir daher für ein paar von Euch eine einfache Challenge, da Ihr vielleicht eh Weihnachtskarten macht, aber für diejenigen, die es wie ich halten, ist es eine ganz besondere Herausforderung.

 

I admit it: Christmas in July is really not my favourite thing. There are people amongst you who diligently craft Christmas cards throughout the year. So you have then collected enough cards around Christmas time to send them to loved ones. I go into production and make lots of cards around Christmas. Or rather, I often make the cards after Christmas. I am then in the mood, the Christmas materials are all around me and I also usually have the time for it after Christmas. So on the Stamp Corner Challenge blog we have an easy challenge for a few of you, since you might be making Christmas cards anyway, but for those who keep it like me, it's a very special challenge.

 

Meine Karte habe ich im CAS (also clean and simple) Design gehalten. Da ich mich mit Weihnachtsgrüßen im Juli nicht anfreunden mag, habe ich eine winterliche Karte gemacht. Ich würde sagen: Das zählt auch, denn hier bei uns kommen Schneeflocken ja lediglich in der Winterzeit vom Himmel gefallen.

I have kept my card in CAS design. Since I do not like to make friends with Christmas greetings in July, I have made a wintry card. I would say: This also counts, because here with us in Germany snowflakes fall from the sky only around Christmas time.

Heute dreht sich mal bei mir alles um einen Stencil, also eine Schablone und nicht um Stempel - na gut, einen Stempel habe ich auch verwendet, aber das ist nur Nebensache. 

Today it's all about a stencil and not about stamps - well, I also used a stamp, but that's just a side piece.

 

Im neuen Release von Stamp Corner gibt es einen Stencil mit Herzen. Diesen habe ich auf einem weißen Karton befestigt und mit zwei Rottönen die Herzen aufgetragen. Dann habe ich entlang der Herzen den Karton ausgeschnitten. Diese Ecke habe ich als Hingucker für meine Karte verwendet. 

Im Hintergrund habe ich Designpapier benutzt. 

In the new release of Stamp Corner there is a stencil with hearts. I attached this to a white cardboard and applied the hearts with two shades of red. Then I cut out the cardboard along the hearts. I used this corner as an eye catcher for my card.

In the background I used design paper.

Ich hatte es ja bereits erzählt: Ich bin ein absoluter Möwenfan. Und klar musste ich dann unbedingt noch mehr Karten machen mit der witzigen Möwen-Gang von Stamp Corner. Ihr wisst ja: Alles Gute kommt von oben, gell?

I already tols you: I am a great fan of sea gulls. And sure enough I needed to make more cards with the cute crew of sea gulls from Stamp Corner. And you know: Everything good comes from above (that is a saying we have here in Germany). The black text reads sea gull poop.

 

Für meine Koloration habe ich dieses Mal Copics benuttz. Die Motive habe ich mit Ink on 3 gestempelt, den Text mit Distress Oxides. Zwei der Ecken habe ich mit einem Stanzer abgerundet und die Nähte sowie den blauen Text von Hand geschrieben. Das wellige Etikett ist mit einer der Stanzen aus dem Set "Wave" gestanzt. 

For my coloring I used Copics this time. The motifs I stamped with Ink on 3, the text with Distress Oxides. I rounded two of the corners with a punch and wrote the stitching and the blue text by hand. The wavy label is die cut with one of the dies from the "Wave" set.

 

 

Und wenn Euch das nächste Mal eine Möwe erwischt, dann denkt an das Gute ;)

And should you be hit by a sea gull next time think of the good ;)

Challenge - Warm or Cool Colours

This challenge theme is so cool, since my favourite is actually to use complementary colours. I love to have flashy colours so I actually end up to have two dominant colours: one warm and one cool, because of the complementary character. Here as you can see it is blue and orange (cool and warm). I also like turquoise and pink - again cool and warm. So if you ask me for my favourite and why: combine one of each to have an eye catcher!

 

 

Die Möwen sind los!

Ich freue mich so sehr, denn mit dem neuen Release im Juli kommt ein Möwenset in den Stamp Corner Shop. Ich durfte als Designteam-Mitglied schon vorher damit spielen. Auf meiner Karte habe ich gleich drei der lustigen Bande untergebracht.

 

I am so excited because with the new release in July, a seagull set is coming to the Stamp Corner Shop. I got to play with it already earlier as a design team member. On my card I put three of the funny gang at once. The text says: Congratulations from us all. 

 

Meine Möwen habe ich mit Polychromos Buntstiften koloriert. Den Hintergrund habe ich mit Strukturpaste und Acrylfarben gemacht. Ich habe ihn mit einem weißem Karton gemattet, den ich mit einer Zick-Zack-Schere ausgeschnitten habe. 

Den Rahmen habe ich aus einem Designpapier gestanzt. Der Text ist in weiß embosst.

 

I colored my seagulls with Polychromos pens. The background I made with texture paste and acrylic paints. I matted it with a white cardstock that I cut into shape with zig zag scizzors.

I die cut the frame from a design paper. The text is embossed in white.
