New stencils release at Visible Image and a Blending technique

Nachdem wir ja erst den neuen Release von Visible Image Stempeln hatten, kommen jetzt noch neue Schablonen dazu. Und wohooo, was soll ich sagen, da sind so tolle dabei! Und ich denke, da findet sich gar für jeden Geschmack etwas. Einer meiner Favoriten ist ein Set mit einem Vogel. Dieses möchte ich Euch heute mit einer besonderen Technik präsentieren. 

Healing - heilen Die Seele des Vogels heilt und er kann sich daher nach und nach wieder vom nicht definierten Hintergrund absetzen. Ich habe ihn mit einer Blending-Technik aus dem Alkoholink-Hintergrund entstehen lassen. Dafür kam mir diese Schablone genau richtig, denn sie enthält sowohl das Positiv als auch das Negativ des Vogels. 

After we only had the new release of Visible Image stamps we now add new stencils. And wohooo, what can I say, there are so many great ones! And I think, there is something for every taste. One of my favorites is a set with a bird. This one I would like to present to you today with a special technique.

Healing - The bird's soul heals and it can therefore gradually separate again from the undefined background. I have created it with a blending technique from the alcohol ink background. This stencil was just right for this, because it contains both the positive and the negative of the bird.

Meine Karte heute ist mit Alkohol Inks entstanden. Ich habe nach Kreation des Hintergrundes mit einer Blending-Technik gearbeitet, um dann mein Motiv einzubringen.

Aber erst einmal zum Anfang. Mein Papier ist Yupo-Papier. Wenn Ihr viel mit Alkohol Inks arbeitet, dann kennt Ihr es ja. Es ist so, dass man den typischen, oft verwendeten tollen Effekt des Verlaufs besonders gut auf Yupo Papier erzielt. Es eignen sich Papiere mit geschlossenen Oberflächen, so dass die Tinte nicht in das Papier einsinkt und so verlaufbar bleibt. Yupo Papier ist eigentlich eine Art Kunststoff und hat daher eine sehr glatte, geschlossene Oberfläche und ist quasi das non plus ultra unter den geeigneten Papieren. Der Nachteil ist allerdings, dass man andere Techniken darauf schlechter machen kann. Dazu zählen das Embossen (vorsicht, das "Papier" schmilzt sehr leicht, denn es ist ja ein Kunststoff) oder aber auch das einfache Stempeln. Die Oberfläche ist sehr rutschig und daher hat man nicht nur beim Stempelabdruck selbst das Problem, dass es nicht einfach ist, einen guten Abdruck zu erhalten, sondern auch, dass es nur wenige Stempelpads gibt, mit denen man auf Yupo Papier überhaupt einen permanenten Abdruck erzielen kann. 

Man kann auch Encausting Papier nehmen, das ist die zweite Wahl würde ich sagen, dicht gefolgt von einigen Keramikpapieren oder Fotopapier. Da ist jedes aber anders und Ihr solltet mal mit unterschiedlichen Papieren experimentieren. Es lohnt sich sehr, die verschiedenen Wirkungen zu erkunden.

My card today was made with alcohol inks. After creating the background I used a blending technique to bring in my motif. 

But first to the beginning. My paper is Yupo paper. If you work a lot with Alkohol Inks, you know it: The typical, often used great effect of the flow of alcohol inks is especially good on Yupo paper. Papers with closed surfaces are suitable, so that the ink doesn't sink into the paper and so it remains runnable. Yupo paper is actually a kind of plastic and therefore has a very smooth, closed surface and is virtually the non plus ultra among the suitable papers. The disadvantage, however, is that other techniques don´t work so well on it. These include embossing e.g. (be careful Yupo "paper" melts very easily because it is a plastic) or simply stamping. The surface is very slippery and therefore you not only have the problem with the imprint itself (it is really hard to get a crisp stamp image), but also that there are only a few stamp pads with which you can get a permanent print on Yupo paper.
You can also use encausting paper, which is the second choice I would say, closely followed by some ceramic papers or photo paper. But every paper is different and I encourage you to experiment with different papers. You will discover a lot of different effects.


Auf meinem Yupo Papier habe ich mit drei Farben Alkohol Inks den Hintergrund gestaltet. Dann kam die tolle neue Schablone "Time Flies" zum Einsatz. Ehrlich gesagt sind es ja sogar zwei Schablonen in diesem Set. Eine positive und ein passendes Negativ. Zunächst habe ich diejenige auf meinen Yupohintergrund gelegt, die den Vogel als Aussparung hat. Mit einem Küchentuch und Isopropanol (ihr könnt auch Blending Solution nehmen) habe ich die Farbe innerhalb des Vogels zum großen Teil weg gewischt bzw. verwischt. Außerdem habe ich mit einem Belnding Stift gearbeitet. Nachdem es wieder getrocknet war, habe ich die Schablone, die den eigentlichen Vogel darstellt auf meinen Vogel gelegt und die weiße Umrandung mit einem Sakurastift gemacht. Den Vogel selber habe ich dann noch mit Copics ein wenig perspektivisch gemacht indem ich Schatten drum herum gemacht habe und Details habe ich außerdem auf dem Vogel zugefügt. 



On my Yupo paper I designed the background with three colours of alcohol inks. Then I used the great new stencil "Time Flies". To be honest, there are actually two stencils in this set. A positive and a matching negative. First I put the one on my yupo background that has the bird as a blank part. With a kitchen towel and isopropanol (you can also use Blending Solution) I wiped or blurred most of the paint from inside the bird. I also worked with a belnding pen. After it had dried again, I put the stencil representing the actual bird on my bird image and made the white border with a Sakura pen. I added a little bit of perspective to the bird with copics by creating shadows around it and I also added details to the bird with them. 


Ich hatte Euch ja oben beschrieben, dass man oft schlecht auf Yupo Papier stempeln kann. Auch hierfür kamen mir die Schablonen recht. Mit der neuen Words of Support Schablone habe ich mit schwarzer Acrylfarbe das Wort auf meine Kollage zugefügt. So ist es auch ein bisschen erhaben. 

I described above that it is often difficult to stamp on Yupo paper. Also for this the stencils came  right for me. With the new Words of Support stencil I added the word on my collage with black acrylic paint. So it stands out a bit as if it were embossed.
