Seemann

This card is one of my highlights in the last weeks. Not only did I fall in love with the old sailor and the corresponding stamp set, I am also more than satisfied with my card. I do not know, when I start something, how it should look like in the end. It develops. There are people who plan everything from the beginning, but I take one piece as a starting point - like a stamp, a colour combination, a technique - and then everything comes together. On this card I find the motifs themselves great, the colours, but also the cork look at the bottom, the way I made the waves and last but not least the sign hanging on the coarse rope that reminds me of a sail. Once in a while it is ok to rhapsodize about the own art work, isn´t it?

I started this card with the stamp motifs. I stamped them in a brown shade and coloured them with Copics. While I coloured them, I had a great conversation. .... did that transfer to the motifs?
Next I set my mind on the waves. For this I die-cut two waves with a stitched edge from a white cardboard and ono without an edge. I have let lighter tones predominate on the waves in the front. The white stitched edges symbolize the foam on the water. I made the colouration with Copics, as with the background. Everything is attached with distance pads on top of each other. The stitches at the edges are drawn with a Copic Multiliner.
