Embossen auf Holz - Embossing on wood

In a desperate search for a nice silver paint I had a fun idea, which worked out so well! Embossing on wood!

But let me first introduce the new challenge from CAS Colours and Sketches to you, where I am allowed to help out as guest designer this month. Today´s card is my inspiration for the new colour challenge for you.

This is how colour scheme of challenge #161, which starts today, looks like.

The card was meant to be for a woman who likes to knit. First I looked through my stamps for a nicely matching image, but then I had the idea to knit a littl piece myself. Shashlik wood pins at hand and then: two right, one left .... When I was finished with knitting I looked for a nice paint to cover the wood pins to show in a nice silver I had the idea with the embossing powder. I dipped the pins into the Versamark pad and turned them around in it so that the surface had the glue all over. Then I dipped the sticks into the powder and heated them up. It worked so nicely! I cut off the pins at the ends and put the beads over them. I fixed the wood ball with some Glossy accent so that the wool would not unroll. I also glued the whole knitting piece to the card with glossy accents. The sentiment reads "It is so fluffy - I am getting all nuts!".

  2. Goodness!!!!! I can't believe my luck!!! I'm so darn glad I checked out this challenge, I'm not to good at color challenges but this are some of my absolute favorite shades of Purple!!
And your card is AMAZING, so incredibly creative. I love knitting and this is a marvelous card to CASE!!!
And you were able to create METALLIC KNITTING NEEDLES, now how wonderful is that, it never occurred to me to use Versamark ink with silver embossing powder to cover the toothpicks, thank you so much for sharing both your sweet and beautiful card and the tip on how to make the knitting needles.
I'm going to give this color challenge a try.
    Big Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.

  13. Nicole - first off, I've never been able to get the hang of knitting, so I am VERY impressed that you were able to do it on such a small scale with toothpicks! Using the embossing powder on them was a genius idea. Absolutely fabulous all-around! :)
