Tree ... three trees

With the code word "tree" in my head I started to look at fancy bigger tree stamps, but then I discovered this plain little needle tree on a sentiments stamp set and it was perfectly suited for my CAS card.

I started off with stamping the tree three times next to each other and embossed them with green powder. To align the trees I helped myself with an acryl block, which I placed under the image so I could use this to align the tree stamp on it. I also embossed the sentiment with blue powder. It actually is quite a cozy Christmas-related expression for us here in Germany, it says "the snow tickles silently" and the phrase is from a very well known song. I made myself a mask by cutting out a rectangle from a paper and added a torn off paper on the bottom part. I then made sure everything was arranged and tied well over the trees.

I then sponged the background and added water drops with a brush. I really love how this technique gives very unique and interesting looks to our water based ink backgrounds and I only use it much to seldom. It is nice that the current Happy Little Stampers Challenge reminded me to use it again (theme "your favorite technique". Finally I added white snow dots with opaque white.
