Guest Designer at Retro Rubber Challenge

I think I mentioned it to you already, that I was asked lately if I would like to join the Retro Rubber Challenge as Guest Designer for one turn. Since I am a big fan of the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog I said yes immediately and today is the day. I am allowed to inspire you for the new challenge with the theme ombre effect. The team behind the Retro Rubber Blog is so lovely and always puts so much love into their challenges and the commenting for the participants. Try it out!

Some of you might ask what ombre is. Ombre is used for a smooth transition from one colour to another one and is also known from fabric, when the one coloured fabric shines in different tones because of its structure and the resulting light reflections. I have integrated both elements of ombre into my card for you. You can see the transition of the darkbrown-red colour to the natural-craft tone and I embossed the leaves with translucent embossing powder to create a surface, which reflects the light in different ways so that a tone in tone effect arises. The mist I used for colouring the paper has a very nice gold glimmer included.

I started off with a piece of wrapping craft paper on which I sprayed a nice colour shading with two tones of glimmer mist. I then stamped the leaves with VersaMark on the dried paper, embossed them with translucent embossing powder and cut them out. I arranged the colour sorted leaves on the card and sticked them on in a regular way with distance pads. The wood sentiment creates a nice closure on the bottom.

Macht Ihr auch bei der Challenge mit?
Are you going to join the fun?

Honestly, this again is one of the examples, that kept me awake during the night. It took a long time until I found the right idea and I thought, that the combination of ombre would go well with the geometric pattern theme. As always you can see at the end of this post what inspired me in this card. Funnily I had the perfect idea then before falling asleep and I was afraid that it would disappear again before I wake up.
