Guest Designer at Night Shift Stamping

Freu! Heute ist es so weit.
On Monday and Tuesday I inspired you with cards for challenges in which I am design team member. Now I have something new for you (and me, hihi) .... I was elected to be guest designer in one challenge for the very first time. Maybe you had seen that my card for the Night Shift Stamping Paper Piecing Challenge was nominated as one of the Top 3. But not only that, I was asked if I wanted to join the team as guest for one of the next challenges. Of course, I DO! *Smile all over the face* And here we go!

KLICK
The theme for the new challenge, which starts today is animals. CLICK

The theme itself would not have challenged me so much, but of course I wanted to make an especially cute card. And on top I really wanted to use the sketch from Happy Little Stampers. I used up many days to come up with the idea on how I want to translate the sketch into my card before I finally had the thought of the flying animal. Most likely many of the participants for this challenge will use a geometric abstract approach, but I really wanted to make something different.
I do not know, if it also happens to you, but one morning I woke up and the idea was there. And this week I finally made the card based on this thought process. The first challenge (after coming up with the basic idea about the sketch) was to create the flight course of the butterfly to match the sketch. And I can tell you, I drew a lot of them before I finally found one that fits! :) The choice of the set though was made very quickly. Only very recently did I buy this stamp set and because the critters are so cute, I wanted to use it as soon as possible. After I coloured all the animals and cut them out I arranged them on the card and drew the lines matching the sketch and the predefined flight route. I cut it out by hand and also cut out matching backing for some of the elements. I left the rest of the card very plain to not create too much disturbance, because with the flight course the card is already quite busy.
